I am just glad we can get plastic.Period. That is why I say the hell with it and run a whole different color scheme.
This pic shows how far off Maier Red is vs. This red R has a Maier Front fender.All other plastic is OEM.But like I said, even the OEM headlight is off in color compared to the rest of the OEM stuff. The only way, I am running OEM stuff, is if I am gonna shelf the trike and never ride it.And even then, I will never shell out no $1500 bucks for the NOS oem plastic.I have bought whole bikes and nice used cars for that kind of money. I just find it curious that Honda had color matching problems, at one time, and Maier can match the color.But it is used for quad plastic.
The reason he sold it was it was a OEM honda replacement headlight shell that did NOT match the OEM color. Seems as though Honda even had some color variances in their replacement plastic that did not match the OEM colors spot on.įunny thing about that headlight shroud is it came from one of the meticulous collectors from this site. I have a OEM honda headlight plastic that matches the red Maier plastic color, which neither matches the OEM honda tank color,even the OEM headlight shroud. I have a set of red TRX 250R maier fenders that are just about spot on match with the trike tanks. Wether or not i keep it as OEM as im planning to is yet to be seen but i'll start a thread when i do get going on this build and i'll keep you all up to date.I dont know what is goin on exactly with the colors.

400 on an old carbon copy that is sun faded. I found a receipt from 2004 for a fender. It has perfect plastics all the way around. I even looked into shipping one over here from there i want one so much but i think building one myself is better. How can a guy verify the plastic on his 29 year old used 250R ATC is OEM or aftermarket I purchased a very nice 250R a couple of months ago. Finding one in Australia thats for sale is almost impossible and the prices of them are astronomical. Ive always dreamt of owning a nice 86R, in my opinion they look so good just the way they came from Honda. Parts like these really deserve to be put on something special and not destroyed. My blue and chrome 83R isnt quite finished yet but i couldnt pass up the chance to buy these. Not sure if the tank is NOS but i'll let you know tomorrow. Thanx Mike, im glad you and Mr Clean saw this thread because ive seen both your work and its very much along the lines of what im planning for this build. Wanted 19851986 honda 350x or 250r atc 3 wheeler 320 phoenix honda 200x 350x & 250r atc new.
